Our Calling: To Share as a Community
Part of our calling at First Christian is to gather in worship and activities as a community, willing to share and listen to each other.  Sharing also means learning together, and so we support, encourage and sponsor education for children and adults including Bible study, contemporary theology and social issues.

To be Stewards of Creation Working for Social Justice
 In alignment of our lives with Biblical principles, we ask for the guidance of God to be active workers for social justice in our own community and the world.  We strive to be aware of the religious, social and spiritual needs of those around us and look for ways to fulfill them.

To Serve Our Neighborhood and Grow as a Body of Christ

 Like Christ with open arms, we are inclusive, reaching out to the greater Tucson community and also our neighbors in the university area, including the United Campus Christian Ministries.  We strive to spread the good news and bring new people into the life of the church as Disciples, maintaining faithful service to those around us.

Because we are a church who’s only creed is Christ, because we are a congregation with open arms, and because God excludes no one from worship, we both encourage and embrace participation and inclusion of all members of our community.

To Identify as a Community
 First Christian Church is a community in which all are welcome, and a place where we can find a home and a family; where all are brothers and sisters in Christ in our everyday lives.
Our Purpose: To Worship God in Creative and Differing Forms as a Whole Community
The worship of God is a creative and living experience in which all can participate and share.  Worship is our response to the grace of God which has come to us through Christ.  Worship aids us in communing with God through Christ.  Worship aids us in communing with God through prayer, scripture, proclamation, music, dance, drama and language.
