“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for everyone, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NRSV)

Thirty-three days remain until election day. It is difficult to escape news, commentary, and analysis about it and the pressing issues we currently face as a country. In response, as people of faith, we encourage all those whom we know to register to vote and vote on or before election day; we make our voices heard on issues as we are guided by our faith; and we pray. We pray in our homes, with our families, and together as a community of faith.

Over the next five Mondays at 6 pm, you are invited to join us as we come together on Zoom to pray for our country in this election season. We pray for clarity, discernment, vision, and peace. We pray for God’s grace to shower upon us, for God’s love to cover us. We pray for God’s spirit to guide us in choices that bring God’s justice and open a path for God’s Kindom ways upon this earth.
