The Lenten series continues this week with our observance of Palm Sunday and the theme “Transforming: Perspectives.” We are including a print out of a palm leaf in this email for you to cut out and color for worship. Together, we will wave our palm leaves (or maybe you have a palm branch you can use from your yard) as we remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.

Additionally, Holy Week will offer several opportunities for connection and worship planned by our design team for this season. First, you are invited to a Wednesday Zoom bake session to prepare unleavened bread for our Thursday service. The simple recipe is provided in this email. We’ll meet Wednesday 6:00pm.

Maundy Thursday’s service will focus on communion and the story of the Last Supper. We will eat dinner together as part of our service, so we encourage you to prepare something ahead of time and to have the bread you baked ready as well.  Our service will begin at 6:00pm.

On Good Friday, we will come together to hear the passion story through meditations on the stations of the cross. Visual images of the stations will guide our worship, which begins at 6:00pm.

Finally, we will join together to celebrate resurrection on Easter Sunday. Please remember to send in a picture of any stained glass art you may have to the church office. We will use the pictures as part of our service. The design team also invites you to record yourself or your household saying “Christ is risen. Christ is risen, indeed.” for use in our worship service.  The videos can also be sent to the church office (tucsonfcc@gmail.com).

Blessings,
