Many people would agree that there have been high levels of chaos present in the past year and a half.  We have had to think in new ways, invent different ways to be church, and find creative ways to stay close to loved ones and friends.  This, in a word, has been exhausting.  And yet, in many ways, it has been exhilarating as well!  Who knew that we could be church without the building?  We might have always said that the church was the people, not the structure, but now we KNOW this is true.

The question now is, “Where do we go from here?”  How do we ‘reorder’ ourselves considering what we have experienced and learned?  What new visions can we see?  What new dreams are coming into our minds and hearts?

When we ask this question, we must look for the answer with our new eyes, our new way of seeing.

This month, we are focusing on “Becoming” with a focus on revisiting our mission statement in a new and different way.  What has changed in how you Seek God?  In what ways are you now learning to Love like Jesus?  And now that we know how big and inclusive our church can be, welcoming visitors and guest speakers from all over the world, how do we look at our church’s call to Serve the World?

Let us all be in prayerful consideration, waiting on God, listening for the Spirit’s urging, and laying aside our old ways of thinking for thinking that is transformed.  Let us step out in faith, assured that God, by the power at work within us, is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine.  To God be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.  (Ephesians 3: 20-21)
